Daniel Fridley, bass-baritone, is finishing his master’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studies with Dean Southern. His roles there include Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Don Pedro in Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict. He also performed as the Speaker of the Temple in Opera Circle Cleveland’s production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. He has performed in masterclasses for Emma Kirkby, Peter Harvey, and others. Daniel has a passion for early music. With Apollo’s Fire at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in December, Daniel made his New York début as bass soloist in Messiah. He has recently been accepted into the DMA in Historical Performance Practice program at CWRU, and looks forward to continuing his studies in Cleveland.
