Carols for Quire from the Old and New Worlds IX
Carols of Yore

The ninth annual presentation of this “cherished Cleveland tradition” (ClevelandClassical.com) features favorite carols from seasons past, as well as new settings of ancient classics. The music will delight you and your loved ones, and is guaranteed to make your holiday season more harmonious!

Carols for Quire IX explores choral music for Christmas & Hanukkah from many lands and centuries, expressing the joy, solemnity, humor, all celebrating the season.

You’ll hear the familiar Coventry Carol, the original setting of Silent Night, as well as works by living composers Eric Whitacre and  Paul Mealor.

New this year is a set of Hanukkah tunes, including 16th-century melodies newly restored to Renaissance harmonies by Quire’s Artistic Director, Ross Duffin. Also, you’ll enjoy a reprise of the Tom Lehrer song, (I’m Spending) Hanukkah in Santa Monica, in a choral arrangement made especially for Quire.

Bring family & friends — under 18s are always free!
