Let the Heavens Rejoice:
Celebratory Psalms for Voices and Instruments

Quire Cleveland joins forces with the brilliant chamber ensemble Les Délices (directed by Debra Nagy) for an exciting program of French Baroque music. Violins, oboes, flutes, bassoon, chorus, and a thrilling team of rising-star vocal soloists perform resplendent, rarely-heard sacred works by Rameau and Mondonville.

Scott Metcalfe, a regular with Les Délices (who directs Boston’s acclaimed vocal ensemble Blue Heron, and guest-conducted Quire Cleveland in 2011), will serve as guest conductor for this program. The “lovely high tenor” Owen McIntosh (who sang the rôle of Evangelist in Quire’s performances of the St. Matthew Passion by Richard Davy in April 2017) returns to sing the modern premiere of Lefebvre’s Conserva me, a beautifully poignant work with echoes of Rameau. Baritone Jeffrey Strauss (whose rendition of Jesus in Davy’s St. Matthew Passion was so moving) is also a featured soloist.

This is a concert not to be missed!
